Everything You Need To Know About Holy Detox Tea
What is Meta Detox Tea?
Meta Detox is a herbal tea blend made from holy basil (tulsi), spearmint, linden blossoms, rose hips, and lemon myrtle.
Meta Detox is not technically a tea, as it is not derived from the Camellia sinensis plant (plant used for black, green, oolong, and white tea). Rather, it is a mix of herbs, fruits, roots and other edible non-tea plant components.
Most herbal teas are served hot, however it is possible to brew them cold. It just varies depending on the weather and your preference.
How Does Meta Detox Taste?
Herbal teas tend to have more complex tastes than regular teas. This is because you get a variety of flavors from all the unique ingredients within the blend.
Meta detox has been categorized as having a very soothing taste while being refreshingly minty. It has also been noted to contain slight hints of lemon and berry flavors.
The refreshing flavor of Meta detox makes it a tea drinkers favorite amongst herbal teas. It is often brewed at night before bed, but also makes for a wonderful cold brew on a hot summer day as its cold spearmint flavor keeps you cool.
Benefits of Meta Detox
While the name “Holy Detox” almost speaks for itself, this powerful herbal blend does so much more than clean your body.
Most people associate the world detox with a cleansing, which is exactly what this tea does. The herbs blended in Meta Detox are known to help the body absorb, digest, and process foods more logically.
Holy basil (tulsi) is known to be anti-viral, ant-bacterial, and anti-fungal, making it a great digestive aid while also helping boost your immune system.
Meanwhile, the other ingredients in Meta Detox such as rose hips and lemon myrtle contain high quantities of vitamins and antioxidants. One study has shown that rose hips contain 50% more Vitamin-C than oranges.
This mix of herbs has also been known to help drinkers achieve a notable feeling of mind-body clarity. It does so by lowering high levels of cortisol, which is the hormone responsible for stress.
Lastly, the spearmint and linden blossoms can help alleviate gastro-intestinal inflammation which can be caused by digestive issues.
While this tea may not flush your body of toxins, it does a great job with helping you boost your digestion and is a great source of micronutrients.
How to Make Meta Detox Tea
Herbal tea blends are usually prepared hot, as the hot water really brings out the flavor and nutrients from the delicious dried herbs and fruits. However, it is possible to brew holy detox cold while still retaining all its health benefits. Heres how:
Step 1: Prepare The Leaves
Take a spoonful of our Meta Detox tea (we recommend using 1-2 teaspoons per 8 ounces of liquid) and put into your strainer, water bottle, or tea bag.
Step 2: Prepare Liquid
Decide whether you are going to brew your meta detox hot or cold. If brewing it hot, we recommend a water temperature between 195°-212° Fahrenheit. If brewing it cold, we recommending brewing it hot first, then pouring it over ice. While you can steep the tea cold directly, doing it hot first will allow for a stronger flavor.
Step 3: Steep Tea Leaves
Put your tea leaves into contact with your water temperature of choice. We recommend brewing your Meta Detox between 5-7 minutes. However, the longer you brew it, the stronger it will taste.
If you are looking to brew it cold directly, we recommend leaving it in ice water for hours or even over night.
